I am sorry but todays post is very short because I am so very tired that I must get some rest.
However, although it is short I do still have a card for you, it just happens not to be one of my own creations.
Todays card is another beautiful creation by the lovely Jenny L and here it is in all its glory:-
Isn't this just divine? I was only just saying to Jenny in my email, that I don't use Lemon at all now as I just don't get on with it, but after seeing how pretty this looks I think I am going to have to try some yellows for myself.
One thing that makes this card extra special for me is the use of the Spellbinders Parisian dies, they are still one of my all time favourites. They are so lovely and feminine without being over the top. However, if you want flamboyant, they layer up easily to create a deeper frilly edge, just as Jenny has done here with the border die.
Have you ever attacked your diecuts with the scissors? Sounds vicious doesn't it, but I love to do this as it can often provide a different look and yet stay as beautiful. I hope you'll forgive me Jenny, but I have played around with your image to give you an idea of what I mean (as I am not very good as describing things these days). See what you think but please excuse the patches, it was all done very quickly:-
WITH
WITHOUT
Well that's it for today guys. I hope to be doing either a Case card for tomorrow or a set of notelets as an idea for a Christmas present. Again, it may be early to mention that word to some of you, but for me I must start soon or I will not have enough time to handcraft those special items for the special people in my life. I also have another altered box on the back burner. This one is a larger wooden box that I bought extra cheap in a sale. I want to turn it into a shabby chic or steampunk storage box. A few ideas to play with, lets see how I get on.
Have a wonderful day today all. I will try to catch up with all the blogs tomorrow and see what everyone has been up to. Hugs and big thanks to you all for sticking with me. Linda xx
PS.. I just remembered I have to post the winners of the papers, so I will be back this evening before 8pm with the Winners names. Good luck all.
Morning sweetie this is gorgeous and so beautiful colours, so cheery hugs pops x
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeletenow that's a surprise. Thank you for showing my card. I like the idea of yours. I used one similar on a card made a while ago must send you the photo. So you can see how we think alike. Have a great crafty day everyone.
Hope the weather is kind to you all.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteJenny's card is great. I love the Parisian set.I have started to experiment more with my spellbinders now instead of just using them "as is". It's amazing how versatile they can be with just a little thought. Thanks for showing it to us. Hope you have managed some rest.
With love from Christine x
HI Linda, Jenny's card is lovely...I love yellow in cards...yes I do cut my die cuts about sometimes...they are there to have fun with I say! Take care and rest up, hugs, Carole Z xx
ReplyDeleteThis card is lovely and sunny!!! I don't seem to use yellow/lemon myself (don't know why) but this has made me want to try some. I like both ways - ie with and without - they are equally as nice.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you have managed to have a rest today.
Hugs Sue P xxx
Hi Linda, I am very fond of yellow, in fact I drive a yellow car, I still loose it in the car park; anyway, this card is right up my alley. I hadn't thought of cutting into my dies until the other day when SuenWilson cut away one of her new dies it made a stunningly different look.hope you have a good weekend and manage to get some rest. Best wishes, Lesley xx
