Showcase

Good morning dear blog friends.
I am sorry but I didn't manage to get to the craftroom again.  My grandson is full of beans and I get so tired that when he leaves with mum or dad, I normally sit on the sofa and nod off within 10mins...LOL!
Anyway, it is not a waste of another day, I have some beautiful cards to show you that were sent to me some time ago.  I was waiting for the right time to showcase them and then, unfortunately, I became ill and they have sat on my laptop just waiting.
The lovely Christine Harrop created these  cards and I think you will all agree with me she definitely has an eye for layout and a lovely style indeed.

No. 1 is made using the largest motif from the Damask Motifs and Accents sets of Spellbinders dies.  This is such a delicate and pretty card.   This is a 'Me' card.

No.2 is (I believe) Labels one with Martha Stewart punch for the borders.   The background looks like the new M-bossibilities design, but I am not sure.  Christine you will have to help us here, is it letterpress effect with inks or a printed paper.  Whichever, it is beautiful.

No.3 is ........just gorgeous!!  Forget which dies have been used, I just love the whole thing.... and what a fabulous colour.  Christine this is so elegant and the delicacy of the backing paper is beautiful and perfect for a Wedding Anniversary.

No.4 is a CAS (clean & simple) card and what a stunner it is.  I love the flourish diecut used here, it is also very delicate and in no way overpowers the design or layout.

All in all I think you will agree, Christine has a created four different cards that show us the versatility of using diecuts.  They don't always have to be big central pieces, sometimes delicate smaller pieces are ample.
Thank you Christine, for letting me showcase your work.  It has been a pleasure and a privilege to do so.  I hope you will let me show more for you as you find time to send them.
Well that's it today, except again, to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for all the words of comfort and best wishes, I have been completed blown away by the amount of care shown to me and it still brings a tear to my eye.  You are all so truly generous of spirit.
Tomorrow I hope (again) to have a card for you but I will definitely have two wonderful cards to show you that I received in the post yesterday (Carole and Jenny you are stars and the cards are amazing!!  They are already up in the craftroom on my wall of fame.)

Poem shared

A very kind and thoughtful lady, one the blog followers in fact, sent me a wonderful poem to give to my niece to help her when she is alittle stronger.  I was so impressed with not only the kindness shown by the lovely Christine, but also the way the poem helps lift something so devastatingly sad into something joyful.  Please, don't think for one minute that I am being thoughtless by saying I have found joy in this tragedy, but I think once you have read it you will understand what I mean.  Thank you so much Christine, I have read and re-read this poem several times and each time I found it tearjerking and yet calming at the same time.
From the emails I have received, I know that there are many among you who have experienced this tragic loss yourselves, so with you in mind also, I would like to share this poem that Christine Harrop sent to me.

From Your Baby

 Daddy please don’t look so sad, Mummy please don’t cry,

Cause I’m in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies.

Please try not to question God, and don’t think He’s unkind,

Showcase - A non-bloggers creations

Hi all,
I am sorry I couldn't put out a post yesterday, but I was having a bit of a rough time.  I am having a better day today so thought I would so something a little different again.  I am trying lots of different things at the moment as I try to find the right groove for my blog.  The way it's going I think it will always stay a bit of this and a bit of that.  We will have to see, who knows it may be fun that way.

Ok, so what is Showcase about, well today it's about a lovely lady who became a follower of my blog and liked it enough to not only come back again but also to send me some of her work.

Her name is Christine Harrop 

and here are some of her 'Box Cards'.

So what do you think, aren't they elegant and stylish?  Thank you so much Christine for sharing them with me and for allowing me to showcase them here on my blog.  I adore the simplicity of the design and the focus being on the lovely stamped verse.
I think these would be perfect with stands attached to the back for use on a table top or with wall hangers so they could become instant wall art for the receiver (of course Christine, you may have done that already).  This idea has vast appeal and can be adapted in so many ways.  A gift and card in one that could be perfect for the 'one who has everything' or for that one person who is 'always hard to buy for'.   What an inexpensive way to alter you home decor too.  Everytime you fancy a change: a different colour or verse for example,  just get out your crafting stash and design to suit.  Interchanging and recreating whenever you need a make-over but can't afford the drapes (so to speak!)
Well I hope you like Christines creations and enjoyed having something new and different to view.  Maybe you have something you are proud of  that you would like showcased here, if so email me and I will try to put yours on the next one.  Don't forget it doesn't have to be just a card, it could be an altered item, a scrapbook page, a tag or a picture; as long as it's handcrafted by you, or even your family, then it will be considered.  And don't forget to email me your quotes too if you would like them considered for my Monday Quote Day posts.
