Hello all,
First I must say welcome to the latest followers, thank you so much for joining us. I hope we can get to know each other and share some fun times.
Okay, before I start I have something I need to say. At this moment my life is extremely busy as the house is being de-cluttered, spring cleaned (Ok don't panic, I know it's summer!) and then decorated. I need to have it made easier for me now so decluttering is a must! Unfortunately, as most of you know, I suffer 24/7 pain with my back and all this is going to take it out of me for a while.
So you may find a post missing now and again or the posts may be very short on words, but the cards should still keep coming as crafting is my way to relax and destress.
Now that's over, let's get on with todays card.
I was looking at the cards I'd made the other day and I spotted my CAS (clean and simple) ones and I was so happy with how they came out that I decided to have a go at another one. So todays card is just that, Clean and Simple but with lots of layers. I hope you like it.
I used the lovely LOTV (Lily of the Valley) Special Day stamp and I chose this because it fitted so well within the overall design. This is a lovely stamp set to use as you can write in the month and year of the Special Day and circle the actual day. There is another circular stamp in the set and also several greeting stamps too for a very reasonable price. They fit so well within alot of the Spellbinders or Marianne dies.
I embossed the background with a Cricut polka dot embossing folder and cut the edge shape with Spellbinders Labels 20. The patterned paper and first blue matt were cut with Nellie Snellen dies and the top blue matt was cut with an X Cut die (I will update this with the names as soon as I can get to them). The final circular matt was cut with the middle sized Spellbinders small circles.
Some of you have asked about the sizes of my cards, so here is a rough guide to help you:
Larger squares:- 7x7" or 8x8"
Smaller squares:- 6x6"
Tent cards:- 6x8" However todays was 5.5 x7.5" (it suited this style better)
Larger cards (8x10" (but, again, the style/layout may alter that slightly).
Ok, that's it for today, its gone 4am and I am shattered now so I am off to bed. Have a fabulous crafty day. I will try to finish my blog rounds and my emails this weekend also. Linda xx
This is a stunning card must look into these stamps they look fsntastic , may have to wait a bit as just ordered some more spell dies,
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely card. I love the clean and simple design, and those colours are really great. I need to buy more stamps one day. Must have a look at theirs. Just finished the last wedding card book, and suddenly remembered my sisters Wedding Anniversary, so I have finished that too. Have a great crafty day everyone because the weathers dull and wet in Kent. I hope it is sunny next Saturday because of the wedding.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Linda, a simply lovely card, very elegant and I love your layout and colouring...yes, as with all LOTV stamps this one is just fab! Take care and take it easy with the decluttering, big hugs, Carole Z X
ReplyDeleteFab card Linda, love all the layers, very elegant, gorgeous colours and details.
ReplyDeletehugs,

Hi Linda, Love this card as the stamp could be used for Anniversaries Weddings etc. I also love the layout with the different dies. It's also good to know the card size, cos I mostly make A5 or occasionally A4 cards(commissioned ones). If the card size is shown then can see whether a layout would work on larger card..:).. Enjoy your day..xxxx
ReplyDeleteHello Linda. Your card is gorgeous. I love the design with all the layers and the colours work perfectly together.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good Sunday
Take care
Hugs Sue
Hi Linda, such a lovely card, I think the CAS style has to be one of my favourites. I know what you mean about decluttering we had to do the same a couple of years ago, but I think I now need to do it again, it's amazing how much you collect daily. My problem is "It might come in handy" but it never does. Good luck with it, I shall be thinking of you. Take care, love Lesley xx

ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are managing to get some sleep. It seems like you have lots going on so you will need it. Your card is lovely. I do like the way CAS cards look. I think I will have to get my dies out and have a go at keeping it very simple. Enjoy your rest.
Hugs Kelly
Hi, I hope you are not wearing yourself out with all that cleaning and decorating, and remember to leave plenty of time for crafting!!! Your clean and simple card is beautiful, it is very elegant and I love the colours

Lovely card Linda, love the colours and all the layering. Take care. Anne x
ReplyDeleteHi Linda
ReplyDeleteLike the clean and simple look of this card-especially the stamps.
Good luck with the de-cluttering. Having down-sized a few years ago I unfortunately have to de-clutter on a regular basis(that's if you don't include the loft!!!)
Take care

Linda this is so pretty I like the patterned piece in the cut out version ,its so pretty. Fabulous embossing too ,I love spotty dots on cards . Look at you up at 4am again crafting ! what are you like !............I know its how you cope and to be honest if my hubby didn't insist I drag myself away from my craft room then I would be up all night too . Have restful day if you can,Hugs Elaine
ReplyDeleteWhat a great CAS card Linda. I was sorting out my scrap box this morning and boy how much do I have so think I need to use up and CAS cards would definitely fit the bill. I like the colours you have used for your card and that stamp is a must have.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the decorating and de-cluttering (I have de-cluttered in some areas but others need some attention lol!), it's all time consuming and very tiring so please take it steady lovely lady!
No crafting this afternoon, must watch the tennis, but hopefully will do some this evening.
Crafty love & hugs Christine H xx
Hi Linda
ReplyDeleteI love CAS cards and yours is just perfect.
In a weird way I love to de-clutter and spring clean so I hope it all goes well for you and without too much pain.
Thanks for dropping by to see me and leaving me a lovely comment.

For a CAS card this is a corker Linda! I love the colours and embossing. I am going to have to check out the LOTV stamps - this one HAS to be added to my collection. I've never seen a stamp like this before.
ReplyDeleteAs for decluttering - my hubby would dearly love me to declutter my craft room but I always say you never know when you may need 'things'. Bless, I think he would like to move to a bungalow some day but says that a large Pickfords truck would be needed to move my room alone! As if!!
Please take great care and get sleep whenever you can.
